Burning Man Festival

Burning Man is much more than just a temporary community. It's a city in the desert, dedicated to radical self reliance, radical self-expression and art. Innovative sculpture, installations, performance, theme camps, art cars and costumes all flower from the playa and spread to our communities and back again. In this section you will learn what you need to know about creating art for the playa, find out all about this year’s art installations, read essays about Burning Man and art from both staff and participants, and revisit some past off-playa art events and exhibitions.

2009 Art Theme: "Evolution"
Nature never made a plan, nor does it seem to copy very well. No living thing is ever quite the same as others of its kind. Charles Darwin called this Natural Variation. There is a kind of subtle chaos, a supple element of chance and change, residing at the core of living things. Our theme this year prompts three related questions: What are we as human beings, where have we come from, and how may we adapt to meet an ever-changing world?

What Is Burning Man?
Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather to create Black Rock City in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Learn more about this incredible experience, and read our mission statement and the Ten Principles.

Se tudo correr como planeado devo ir para Albuquerque, Novo Mexico a meio de agosto e daí apanhar transporte para o estado do Nevada, que é ao lado... talvez consiga cravar o jeep do meu primo lá...mas ainda me falta confirmar datas...

I never go unfortunate, but Nikita (Penta, Azorsky amazing projects) said that is a ossommmmmmmmmm festival.
I must visit my mom in USA at 2010 , maybe I can go the 'Burning Man Festival' but its a remote possibility, because I don´t like to go alone.

i worked in the black rock city llc (aka Burning Man) office for 2 years. 2001-2003
its nothing like any thing else. go eat LEAST one in life. amazing.
