The original Goa trance (or "old school") was often made with popular Modular synthesizers and hardware samplers, but modern psychedelic trance is typically made with VST and AU software sampler applications. The use of analog synthesizers for sound synthesis has given way to digital "virtual analog" instruments like the Nord Lead, Access Virus, Korg MS-2000, Roland JP-8000 and computer VST and AU plugins like Native Instruments Reaktor. These are usually controlled by MIDI sequencers within Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) applications. Emphasis is placed on purely synthesized timbres for programming and lead melodies. Tempos range across the spectrum depending on the style and approach of the individual producer although speeds between 140 and 150 BPM are common.

Namaste! Thinking of trance music(doesnt matter wat style u think,,its just an adjective to identify some variables..) ..i think the scene is very weak at the moment,most of the partys nowadays(at least here in portugal..)are full of people consuming drugs only cus its cool,and Saying "yeah yeah i like trance music"...tough..in the majority of the times they arent even listening to real trance music, the responsability of such thing is of the people who sold it out...people who dont care if u enter a psychedelic state,wat u ear nowadays is technoised trance with no story to tell,to be honest i think most people doesnt care about that as long as they ear a bam bam bam ,but while doing so,the truth is the same old ones who have the power of gathering so much people in one space, will continue to lock our minds and dumb this scene down in order to have more profits...a part of us know who is who,and what is what... I miss the real gatherings where i could see with my eyes closed...
