Got two interesting points of view on the 2012 issue:

Many of us are aware of the Mayan calendar but not many people truly understand what it means and how it works. Yes the calendar does end on December 21, 2012, but what does that mean? How does it come to that? What is their calendar based on?

The Mayans had a very precise understanding of our solar system's cycles and believed that these cycles coincided with our spiritual and collective consciousness. The most significant of which has much to do with the 2012 prophecies. In the following writing, we will walk through the main details of their prophecies surrounding the 2012 transition. How the transition takes place (from an astronomical perspective), what it means for us, and when the cycles take place. We'll start with the basic prophecies and later move deeper into the explanation of the cycles.

The Mayans prophesied that from 1999 we have 13 ears to realize the changes in our conscious attitude to stray from the path of self-destruction and instead move onto a path that opens our consciousness to integrate us with all that exists.

The Mayans knew that our Sun, or Kinich-Ahau, every so often synchronized with the enormous central galaxy. And from this central galaxy received a 'spark' of light which causes the Sun to shine more intensely producing what our scientists call 'solar flares' as well as changes in the Sun's magnetic field. The Mayans say that this happens every 5,125 years. But also that this causes a displacement in the earths rotation, and because of this movement great catastrophes would be produced.

The Mayans believed the universal processes, like the 'breathing' of the galaxy, are cycles that never change. What changes is the consciousness of man that passes through it. Always in a process toward more perfection. Based on their observations, the Mayans predicted that from the initial date of the start of their civilization, 4 Ahau, 8 Cumku which is 3113 B.C., after one cycle being completed 5,125 years in their future, December 21st, 2012. The Sun, having received a powerful ray of synchronizing light from the center of the galaxy, would change its polarity which would produce a great cosmic event that would propel human kind to be ready to cross into a new era, The Golden Age. It is after this, that the Mayans say we will be ready to go through the door that was left by them, transforming our civilization based on fear to a vibration much higher in harmony.

Only from our individual efforts could we avoid the path to great cataclysm that our planet will suffer to start a new era, the sixth cycle of the Sun. The Mayan civilization was in the fifth cycle of the Sun, and there were four other great civilizations before them that were destroyed by great natural disasters. They believed that each cycle was just one stage in the collective consciousness of humanity.

In the last cataclysm of the Mayans, the civilization was destroyed by a great flood that left little survivors of which were their descendants. They believed that having known the end of their cycle, mankind would prepare for what is to come in the future and it is because of this that they would have preserved the dominant species; the human race. They say that coming changes will permit us to make a quantum leap forward in the evolution of our consciousness to create a new civilization that would manifest great harmony and compassion to all humankind.

Their first prophecy talks about 'The Time of No-Time'. A period of 20 years, which they call a Katún. The last 20 years of the Sun's cycle of 5,125 years. This cycle is from 1992 - 2012. I'll explain this in greater detail later. They predicted that during these times, solar winds would become more intense and could be seen on the Sun. This would be a time of great realization and great change for mankind. And it would be our own lack of preservation and contamination of the planet that would contribute to these changes. According to the Mayans, these changes would happen so that mankind comprehends how the universe works so we could advance to superior levels, leaving behind superficial materialism and liberating ourselves from suffering.

The Mayans say, that seven years after the start of Katún, which is to say 1999, we would enter a time of darkness which would force us to confront our own conduct. The say that this is the time when mankind will enter 'The Sacred Hall of Mirrors'. Where we will look at ourselves and analyze our behaviors with ourselves, with others, with nature and with the planet in which we live. A time in which all of humanity, by individual conscious decisions, decides to change and eliminate fear and lack of respect from all of our relationships. The Mayans prophesied that the start of this period would be marked by a solar eclipse on August 11, 1999, known to them as 13 Ahau, 8 Cauac. And would coincide with an unprecedented planetary alignment, the 'Grand Cross' alignment. This would be the last 13 years of the Katón period. The last opportunity for our civilization to realize the changes that are coming at the moment of our spiritual regeneration.

For the Mayans, everything is numbers and the time of the 13 sacred numbers started in August 1999. They predicted that along with the eclipse, the forces of nature would act like a catalyst of changes so accelerated and with such magnitude that mankind would be powerless against them. Also, that our technologies in which we rely on so much would begin to fail us. We would no longer be able to learn from our civilization in the way that we are organized as a society. They said that our internal, spiritual development would require a better place along with a better way to interact with more respect and compassion.

The first prophecies were attained by their study of our Sun. The Mayans discovered that the entire solar system moved. That even our universe has its own cycles. Repetitive periods which begin and end like our day and night. These discoveries lead to the understanding that our solar system rotates on an ellipse that brings our solar system closer and further from the center of the galaxy. In other words, according to the Mayans, our Sun and all of its planets rotate in cycles in relation to the center of the galaxy or Hunab-Kú, the central light of the galaxy. It takes 25,625 years for our solar system to make one cycle on this ellipse. One complete cycle is called a galactic day. The cycle is divided into two halves similar to our day and night. The half closest to the central light, is our solar system's 'day' and the half furthest away is its 'night'. Each day and each night lasts 12,800 years. Which is to say, the central galaxy is the Sun for our entire solar system.

The Mayans discovered that every grand cycle has its minor cycles, that carry the same characteristics. One galactic day of 25,625 years is divided into five cycles of 5,125 years. The first cycle is the galactic morning. When our solar system is just coming out of the darkness to enter the light. The second cycle is the mid-day. When our solar system is closest to the central light. The third cycle is the afternoon. When our solar system begins to come out of the light. The fourth cycle is the late-night. When our solar system has entered its furthest cycle from the central light. And the fifth and last cycle is night before dawn. When are solar system is in its last cycle of darkness before starting again. This is the cycle we are currently coming out of.

The Mayan prophecy tells us that in 1999, our solar system began to leave the end of the fifth cycle which started in 3113 B.C. and that we find ourselves in the morning of our galactic day, exiting darkness and on the verge of being in plain day of our central galaxy in 2012. They say that at the beginning and end of these cycles, which is to say, every 5,125 years, the central sun or light of the galaxy emits a ray of light so intense and so brilliant that it illuminates the entire universe. It is from this burst of light that all of the Suns and planets sync. The Mayans compare this burst to the pulse of the universe, beating once every 5,125 years. It is these pulses that mark the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. Each pulse lasting 20 years, a Katún.

So we come back to what they call 'The Time of No Time'. It is an evolutionary period, short but intense, inside the grand cycles where great changes take place to thrust us into a new age of evolution as individuals and as mankind.

As individuals we will have to make decisions that will affect us all. If we continue on this negative path of hate, an eye for an eye, destruction of nature, of fear and egoism, we will enter straight into the time of destruction and chaos, and we will disappear as the dominant race of this planet. If we become conscious and realize that we all form part of a great organism, and that we should respect one another and be grateful to our planet, then we will move directly into positive growth, our Golden Age. Our planet, the Sun and the Galaxy are awaiting our decision. It is up to us what will happen in this time of change. Whether we go through a time of suffering and destruction or we find ourselves united in one positive consciousness moving closer to our next stage.

Please notice the events of our planet as evidence that the Mayan prophecies are worth listening to and learning from. Share this information and help us all move toward a better future, where we can thrive in a new era of positivity. It has never been so important.

On the other hand, comes the sceptical point of view that can clearly be explained.
The most alarming fact about the prophecies is that people tend to consider that a magnetic pole shift might actually occurr and that consequently planet Earth will become a much more vulnerable planet due to the Sun's harmful radiation.

Some studies have revealed that pole reversal doesn't actually occur on a specific day, hour, year, month or whatsoever. It in deed lasts thousands of years to happen and the magnetic field does not vanish during the so caled natural cicle: it becomes more and more complex as it makes the transition.

Some pleads on the pole shift scenario deffend that this shit might be a physical movement of the poles of the earth, and not simply a magnetic shift. This event is called a true polar wander.

Earth did have a small degree shift in the past, but nothing compared to a complete reversal, therefore there is no proof that can validate it, or predict if it can be possible.
"According to William Sager, a Texas A&M Oceanographer, a slight shift in the physical pole occurs at a rate between 5 and 10 degrees per million years, which means that this event could not happen on a particular day or year but only over a long period of time."

What can you tell me, if possible, about the year 2012. I heard or read something about that but dont remember where. It is a Maya theory about the World. Sorry if in this moment I cant explain myself better. But if you never heard about that I will try to explain myself better.

According to the mythology of the Yuga system there are four ages of life and time on our planet. It is important to remember that there are many cycles within cycles in the Hindu Yuga system so the years mentioned next may have to do with a larger cycle than the one addressed in this article. Perhaps the huge number of years referred to below is the cycle of the solar system as it circles another star or perhaps it is a portion of the great cycle of one revolution around the galactic center.

The first age is the Satya Yuga or the Golden Age according to Fulcanelli. The Hindu texts tell us that this age lasts 1,728,000 years. This is an age of extreme splendour when the beings on our planet appear to live much longer than they do now. In this age there are no wars, famines strife or evil.

The second age is called the Treta Yuga, or the Silver age. As in the second law of thermodynamics, or entropy, things begin to slip in this age and the beings on Earth begin to deteriorate. This slippage, at least during this second age is the beginning of corruption and evil is introduced into the planetary sphere. This age lasts 1,296,000 years according to the Vedic texts of India.

The third age of this cycle is called the Dvapara Age, or the Bronze Age. This is the beginning of the ‘fall’ of humanity. In this age corruption comes on more fully, evil begins to spread and things start to fall into disharmony. This age lasts 864,000 years.

The last age is called the Kali Yuga, or the Iron Age. This age is the age we are in right now. Evil and corruption become the driving force as greed, wars, famine and disease spread across the planet like a tidal wave of death and destruction. This age lasts, according to the Hindu texts for 432,000 years. What is important to understand while discussing these huge numbers found in the Hindu texts is that they are describing the four ages within a context of understanding that each successive age is shorter than the previous age. The Satya Yuga, or the Golden Age, is one quarter longer than the Treta Yuga, or the Silver Age. The Treta Yuga is one quarter longer than the Dvapara Yuga, or the Bronze Age. Understanding these differences in the lengths of the ages becomes important to the following discussion.

According to Fulcanelli and the cross at Hendaye, the alchemical Four Ages comprise the four quadrants of a 25,920 yearlong cycle called the precession of the equinoxes. Essentially, the precession of the equinoxes can be explained by the fact that our Earth has a wobble. Like a top spinning on the floor, as it begins to lose momentum this wobble of the earth takes nearly 26,000 years to unfold. The strange engraving of the four ‘A’s’ (see illustration A) on the cross of Hendaye is a "hieroglyph of the universe", according to Fulcanelli. It is "comprised of the conventional signs of heaven and earth, the spiritual and the temporal, the macrocosm and the microcosm, in which major emblems of the redemption (cross) and the world (circle) are found in association".

The Precession of the Equinoxes

What Fulcanelli appears to be saying here is that the precession of the equinoxes is to be divided into four distinct ages of 6480 years each (4 divided into 25,920) or, to round off the figures to approximately 6500 years each. This is also interesting because the zodiacal cycle, which lasts 25,920 years, has four fixed signs. These are the signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. These four signs are separated by 6,500 years each. Also in the Book of Ezekiel and in the Book of Revelation we are told of the angel with four faces. This angel has the face of a Lion (Leo), a Bull (Taurus), a Man (the angel) and an Eagle (in older times Scorpio was represented by an eagle instead of a scorpion). Apparently, according to Fulcanelli, both of these books in the Bible are warnings and messages about the four quadrants of the precession of the equinoxes and appear to be telling us that there is some kind of great change whenever we arrive at one of these four signs.

Of course it is well known that we are currently entering the Age of Aquarius. The Cross at Hendaye and Fulcanelli are telling us that there are tremendous changes to be found here on Earth when we enter into one of the four fixed signs. Apparently these changes can be cataclysmic.

Obviously this 6,500 year long dating of the four alchemical ages disagrees with the Hindu Yuga system, which insists that each Yuga is of varying time lengths. It is in trying to iron out the dissimilarities in these two time periods that the hyperdimensional aspects of time can be best revealed.

The time is foretold by a song sung during the Wuwuchim ceremony. It was sung in 1914 just before World War I, and again in 1940 before World War II, describing the disunity, corruption, and hatred contaminating Hopi rituals, which were followed by the same evils spreading over the world. This same song was sung in 1961 during the Wuwuchim ceremony.

An alignment of Our solar system, The Pleiades (which we orbit) and Galactic centre occurs on 21st Dec 2012. Earth will stop rotating and begin spinning in the opposite direction over the next 6 years. We are rotating due to the radiation of light from the Sun, Alcyone and Galactic centre. Our orbit of Alcyone (Pleiades) is once every 26000 years.
This is all verifiable in scientific measurement as well as the myth and legend of all ancient cultures.

2012: From the Mayan Elders Themselves

I just finished watching a fascinating video interview with a guy who has spent much of his last 35 years with indigenous people around the world. His name is Drunvalo Melchizedek. His take on 2012 is different from many others: he says no one has yet gotten the story right because they haven’t asked the Mayans themselves. He’s met with the Mayan Elders (as well as Hopi Elders who share nearly identical prophecies).

Here’s what Drunvalo Melchizedek has to say.

1] Although Dec 21, 2012 is the date of the end of the age in the Mayan calendar it does not mean anything spectacular is going to happen on that exact date.

2] The Mayan elders say the calender foretells Earth changes and changes in consciousness AND that they occur within a seven-year period of time around 2012.

3] When does (did) the seven-year period start? The Hopis’ prophecy stated the major changes would start when a ”large blue star” appears.

4] On October 24, 2007 “Comet 17P/Holmes shocked astronomers on Oct. 24, 2007, with a spectacular eruption. In less than 24 hours, the 17th magnitude comet brightened by a factor of nearly a million, becoming a naked-eye object in the evening sky. By mid-November the expanding comet was the largest object in the solar system–bigger even than the Sun.

5] Hopi and Mayan Elders met and agreed Comet Holmes was the star foretold in their prophecies. The seven year period has begun.

6] What is the biggest change in this seven years? A magnetic pole shift followed shortly by a physical pole shift. A physical pole shift is what destroyed Atlantis 13,000 years ago. Similarly, this would be a “big deal” today. Certainly it would qualify as Yogananda’s “you have no idea what a catastrophe is coming” event.

7] The Hopis are joining with other indigenous peoples in Arizona in April 2009 to perform a sacred welcoming ceremony for our space ancestors.

8] The Mayan Elders are currently writing a book to set the record straight on the Mayan calandar/prophecies.

La primera profecía anunció que siete años después del comienzo del último Katum es decir en 1999 comenzaría una época de oscuridad que nos enfrentaría a todos con nuestra propia conducta dijeron que las palabras de sus sacerdotes serían escuchados por todos nosotros como una guía para despertar ellos llaman a esta época como el tiempo que la humanidad entrara al gran salón de los espejos, una época de cambios para enfrentar al hombre consigo mismo para hacer que entre al gran salón de los espejos y se mire, que mire y analice su comportamiento con el mismo, con los demás, con la naturaleza y con el planeta en donde vive.

“que nuestro mundo de odio y materialismo terminará el sábado 22 de diciembre del año 2012, (tiempo que ha venido acortándose por la misma aceleración del tiempo y esto da lugar a que dichos sucesos ocurran antes de esta fecha, unos 4 o 5 años antes) que para ese día la humanidad deberá escoger entre desaparecer como especie pensante que amenaza con destruir el planeta o evolucionar hacia la integración armónica con todo el universo, comprendiendo que todo está vivo y consciente, que somos parte de ese todo y que podemos existir en una nueva era de luz."

Los Mayas sabían que nuestro sol (ellos le llamaban kinich-Ahau) es un ser vivo que respira y que cada cierto tiempo se sincroniza con el enorme organismo en el que existe, que al recibir un chispazo de luz del centro de la galaxia brilla más intensamente, produciendo en su superficie lo que nuestros científicos llaman erupciones solares y cambios magnéticos.



Ellos dicen que esto sucede cada 5.125 años, que la tierra se ve afectada por los cambios en el sol mediante un desplazamiento de su eje de rotación, predijeron que a partir de este movimiento se producirían grandes cataclismos, para los mayas los procesos universales como la respiración de la galaxia son cíclicos y nunca cambian, lo que cambia es la conciencia del hombre que pasa a través de ellos, siempre en un proceso hacia más Perfección.

Basados en sus observaciones los Mayas predijeron que a partir de la fecha de su civilización desde el 4 Ahau 8 Cumku es decir desde el año 3113 AC, 5.125 en el futuro o sea el sábado 22 de diciembre del año 2.012 el sol al recibir un fuerte rayo sincronizador proveniente del centro de la galaxia cambiará su polaridad y producirá una gigantesca llamarada radiante.



Para entonces la humanidad debe estar preparada para atravesar la puerta que nos dejaron los Mayas, transformando a la civilización actual basada en el miedo en una vibración mucho más alta de armonía, solo de manera individual se puede atravesar la puerta que permite evitar el gran cataclismo que sufrirá el planeta para dar comienzo a una nueva era, un sexto ciclo del sol.

Nos dicen que el cambio de los tiempos permite ascender un peldaño en la evolución de la conciencia dirigirnos hacia una nueva civilización que manifestará mayor armonía y compresión para todos los seres humanos. La primera profecía nos habla del tiempo del no-tiempo, un periodo de 20 años llamados por ellos un katum, los últimos 20 años de ese gran ciclo solar de 5.125 años, es decir desde 1.992 hasta el año 2.012.

Profetizaron que hasta ese tiempo manchas del viento solar cada vez más intensas aparecerían en el sol, desde 1.992 la humanidad entraría en un último periodo de grandes aprendizajes, grandes cambios.



Que nuestra propia conducta de depredación y contaminación del planeta contribuiría a que estos cambios sucedieran; la primer profecía dice que estos cambios van a suceder para que comprendamos como funciona el universo y avancemos hacia niveles superiores dejando atrás el materialismo y liberándonos del sufrimiento.

El libro sagrado Maya del Chilam Balam, dice: …..

”En el trece Ahau al final del último katum, el itzá será arrollado y rodará Tanka, habrá un tiempo en el estarán sumidos en la oscuridad y luego vendrán trayendo la señal futura los hombres del sol; despertará la tierra por el norte y por el poniente, el itzá despertará”.

La primera profecía anunció que siete años después del comienzo del último Katum es decir en 1999 comenzaría una época de oscuridad que nos enfrentaría a todos con nuestra propia conducta dijeron que las palabras de sus sacerdotes serían escuchados por todos nosotros como una guía para despertar ellos llaman a esta época como el tiempo que la humanidad entrara al gran salón de los espejos, una época de cambios para enfrentar al hombre consigo mismo para hacer que entre al gran salón de los espejos y se mire, que mire y analice su comportamiento con el mismo, con los demás, con la naturaleza y con el planeta en donde vive.

Ha contaminado dramáticamente la atmósfera con sus emisiones de gases tóxicos, la llamada lluvia ácida producto de la quema de carbón o derivados del petróleo y de la emisiones de sulfuro y oxido de nitrógeno en el ámbito industrial tiene lugar en todo el mundo y se concentra en la áreas urbanas corroe los monumentos y puentes destruye la pintura exterior, mata los bosques, daña la vida Marina, los suelos cultivados convierten el agua potable en tóxica y reduce la visibilidad.

El aumento de la temperatura producirá fuertes vientos huracanes y tornados.



Los huracanes son tormentas gigantescas y violentas un vórtice de destrucción y muerte se los llama huracán en conmemoración del Dios del mal de los aborígenes del caribe, el Huracán Mich y los fenómenos asociados a la corriente del niño, son evidencia de la tendencia hacia los grandes desastres causados por el clima el sistema hidráulico es fundamental pues la tierra está cubierta en un 70 por ciento de agua, a aumentar la temperatura disminuirá la humedad relativa en el ambiente lo que traerá como consecuencia menos nubosidad en el cielo y mayor exposición al sol agravando así el problema.

La sexta profecía Maya dice que en los próximos años aparecerá un cometa cuya trayectoria pondrá en peligro la existencia misma del hombre, los Mayas veían a los cometas como agentes de cambio que venían a poner en movimiento el equilibrio existente para que ciertas estructuras se transformen permitiendo la evolución de la conciencia colectiva.



Todas las cosas tienen un lugar que les corresponde en todas las circunstancias, aún las mas adversas son perfectas para generar comprensión sobre la vida para desarrollar conciencia sobre la creación, por esto el hombre se ha enfrentado constantemente a situaciones inesperadas que le generan sufrimiento, es un modo de lograr que reflexione sobre su relación con el mundo y con los otros, así a lo largo de muchas vidas comprenderá las leyes universales de la razón de la creación, para los Mayas, Dios es la presencia de la vida que tiene todas las formas y su presencia es infinita.

El cometa del que habla la sexta profecía fue también anunciado por muchas religiones y culturas, por ejemplo la Biblia en el libro de las revelaciones aparece con el nombre de ajenjo.



Sí el cometa aparece, es posible que su trayectoria lo lleve a chocar con la tierra, o también por medio de físicos o psíquicos logremos desviar su trayectoria (informaciones recientes nos hablan de un enorme asteroide que se ha descubierto en el espacio que en su trayectoria puede chocar con la tierra en los próximos años), los cometas siempre han formado parte del sistema solar, miles de residuos atraviesan, cruzan, rozan, van y vienen periódicamente e incluso chocan con los planetas que se mueven siempre tranquilos en órbitas regulares, alrededor del sol.

Los Mayas siempre estudiaron y registraron los eventos del cielo, su alerta fue prevenir al hombre de los peligros de no conocer las órbitas y períodos de grandes residuos que se cruzan con la trayectoria conocida de la tierra, ellos sabían que para el hombre moderno descubrir con anticipación un asteroide tan grande que pudiera causar su extinción y luego desviarlo sería uno de los mayores logros de la historia humana y un hecho crucial que nos uniría como especie.



Antiguamente la esfera celeste era el dominio de los dioses, la aparición sorpresiva de un objeto desconocido que dominaba la noche era motivo de miedo y misticismo, por ese motivo los Mayas construyeron observatorios dedicados a estudiar los fenómenos, querían entender los impredecibles movimientos en el cielo, especialmente después de que establecieron las posiciones de los planetas y las estrellas.
